It was wonderful to see John Morrison back at Rotary last night following his hip replacement. He is doing very well and walking as straight as ever!

Our guest speaker was Liam McEwan, our world polo champion from Palmerston North. What an impressive, well-rounded and energetic young man. Liam thanked Milson Rotary for their donation towards his World Cup trip, and he returned home with a silver medal. What an outstanding achievement! Palmerston North polo players certainly punch above their weight, with four local players selected for the team this year.

I also announced with sadness the resignations of Elizabeth Hayman, John, and Mishra. Each of them will be greatly missed, and on behalf of the club, I thank them for their valued contributions.

We have only about six weeks left in our Rotary year, but they are going to be busy ones. Our next meeting, on 2 November, will be our AGM, along with a meeting of the incoming and outgoing Boards. Our final formal meeting of the year will be the changeover on 16 November, so the weeks are certainly moving quickly.

Anthony has been busy organising the marker post and Alzheimer’s working bees, while Mark has arranged our final visit to the TRYP Hotel for the 9th of November. Meet outside the hotel at 5:30. The visit is limited to members and partners. Thank you both for coordinating these activities.
